– Tim, how would you describe his condition at the moment?

– happy and tired. I certainly incredibly nervous, but I think I still have not yet fully proshiblo. This is a tremendous accomplishment not only for me but for the whole team. I must say thank you to everyone who helped make this moment possible. Including such “invisible” behind the scenes, as experts from the service team, who provided me terrific skiing throughout the season. Nowadays, it is extremely important to have competitive skiing. I want to express my gratitude and our sports psychologist Ross Flowers, who greatly helped me to improve my mental stability at the shooting range.

– You knew what was going on that most important last lap?

– Yes, I have had information about everything. In fact, after the last shooting I just saw a yellow color and, unrolling the penalty loop, have watched where there is Fourcade. Thanks to all team members who were on the road, I received information about the time throughout the race and I just hovered over the ski runs, because they screamed so loud. Can not wait to Oberhof, so start there in yellow. If it depended only on me, I want to do it right now.

– You come a long way in the biathlon, which included surgery on the hip and mononucleosis …

– It is true that this path was not easy for me. But I think that those tough times have also been important for me to step by step lead me to where I am now. In 2002 I had extensive surgery on the hip joint, and I was not sure I can continue to engage in biathlon after that. A mononucleosis caused me to miss the entire season 2004.

– You could tell in detail about those unpleasant moments?

– In 2002, I had serious problems with his hip. I could not train without pain. No running or riding on rollers, but sometimes on a bicycle. I had this pain constantly and visited many specialists, but no one could identify the reason, until I found a doctor in Nashville, which determined that the problem with the joint was atypical. He has launched a new procedure that could help me, but he was not sure that I will be able to remain a professional athlete. It was such a difficult time for me! And then in 2004 developed mononucleosis, which again turned the whole season, missed.

– Since your results will always go up the hill. How would you explain this?

– I suppose the most important factor here is our coach Per Nilsson. Before Peer came to the team, I did not get a single point in the World Cup. And in his first season under his guidance, I was already the 25th in the overall standings. That explains a lot.

– How has your training with the arrival of Pera?

– Before we met, I think that train is really a lot. But just got acquainted with him, I learned what it means to train a lot. He increased the quality and quantity of training, good understanding in skiing and shooting technique. When I watch a four-year-old video, I can now actually see a noticeable difference.

When asked about plans for Christmas Tim responds bluntly: “This year is extremely important to allow yourself to make extra journeys. Therefore, instead of going home, I use condition Oberhof in preparation for the World Cup stage and Christmas meeting with Andrea. ” (Henkel – Ed.)
