From Jarred Olgavic
Editor,
Enjoy Down-the Line very much, but have not seen anything for two months. Do you publish to a deadline?
Jarred.
Jarred,
You will see in the Editor’s Notes that we took a brief sojourn over the summer as so many of our readers and writers were replete after the World Cup. That’s our excuse and we’re sticking to it!
You bring up a good point, though. So far, we have been publishing every four weeks or so without forcing ourselves into a definite deadline. I guess that is one of the privileges of publishing on-line. However, we have discussed deadlines and timelines among ourselves and will come to a conclusion during the next weeks. We’ll let everyone know how we will continue to operate in Issue # 10.
Tony
From Mark Nebbling:
Dear Tony,
Keep up the good work. Great information and excellent contributors.
You invited observations for improvements, so here goes:
- Would like to see more “visual” presentations, i.e., graphics, tables, etc.
- Along the same theme, as most of us will read the articles from the computer (rather than print them out) it would be better to keep the articles shorter (or more visual – see point 1).
Either way, keep Down-the-Line coming. I find it very beneficial.
Mark. Thanks. Points noted and I agree with you.
From Lisa Carlen,
I have a 5-year old just starting in soccer. Our club recommended Down-the-Line as a reference point. I found it very interesting and informative as a first-time soccer parent.
Would you consider something to guide someone like me? What sort of equipment does my daughter need? How can I help her learn the soccer skills? What should I know about the game of soccer to avoid the appearance of being soccer-challenged (which I am)?
Lisa
Lisa,
Good points. We’ll do something along the lines you are suggesting in the next Issue.
